What Is Astrology?
Astrology is an ancient symbolic language that studies the relationship between celestial movements and human life. It is not merely about predicting the future—it is about understanding patterns, timing, personality, and the deeper rhythm of existence.
From the earliest civilizations, humans have looked toward the sky with curiosity. The movement of the Sun, Moon, and stars became a cosmic clock. Over time, this observation evolved into structured systems such as Vedic Astrology in India, Western Astrology in Europe, and Chinese Astrology in East Asia. Each tradition developed unique techniques, yet all share the same foundation: the universe operates through meaningful cycles.
Astrology as a Map of Potential
Astrology begins with a birth chart—also called a natal chart. This chart is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and place of birth. It maps the positions of planets within the zodiac signs and houses, creating a symbolic blueprint of a person’s strengths, challenges, tendencies, and life themes.
Astrology does not claim that planets “cause” events in a mechanical way. Instead, it suggests that planetary movements reflect inner and outer patterns. Just as the Moon influences ocean tides, cosmic cycles are believed to correspond with emotional, psychological, and social rhythms.
